DESCRIPTION
The ancient and unchanged beauty of Sicily is reflected in the architecture of Baglio Spano'.
Baglio Spanò dates back to XVIII century when it was used as a summer residence by the noble family Montalto-Spanò. It is situated amidst 300.000 square metres of wineyards only 2 km from the seaside.
An old farm road runs directly to Baglio Spanò and reaches its main entrance with the preserved ancient door.
A courtyard separates the farmhouse with its guest rooms from the warehouses which were once used to store the grapes and produce wine. The building has two floors. On the ground floor you can find the breakfast room - dining room in the restructured wine cellar, in which you can feel a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Here you will taste and enjoy tipical Sicilian dishes prepared by our cook. The guest-rooms are situated on the second floor where you can also find a wide, quiet sitting room now used as library of TV room. The building is entirely surrounded by citrus trees which release their delicate perfumes in the peaceful spring evenings.
FACILITIES
On the first floor, a wide liberty-style dining room is today available as library and TV room for our guests. From the sofa you will enjoy the stunning views of the orange grove and the wineyard, together with the colour of the seaside which is just some hundreds metres away from the house.
The bedrooms are positionned, as for the tipical sicilian architectural style, around the library, are furnished with beautiful furniture which dates back to the end of XIX century, now perfectly restored and are characterized by magnificent hand made decorated floors.
Each room gets its name from the sicilian vintage: "Grillo", "Inzolia", "Grecanico" are in fact the main species of wine, utilized for the Marsala production, famous throughout the world.
The rooms have air conditioning and heating system, freely available for the guests.

HOW TO ARRIVE
From Palermo (Airport) - (1 hour 15 minutes):
Take the motorway A29 (Palermo-Mazara del Vallo) direction Mazara del Vallo, up to the end of the motorway, and drive on until you reach the Marsala-Mazara del Vallo state road SS115 (PAY ATTENTION: DO NOT TAKE IN THE MOTORMAY THE EXIT: Mazara del Vallo). On the state road, drive for 10 Km ca, until you reach "Caffè Movida" (you will find it on the right hand side). Carry on for other 300 metres, and you will see indications for "Baglio Spanò", at this point turn left and drive forward for 3 Km; when the road becomes a country road, you have to drive for the last 1,5 Km until you reach Baglio Spano'.
From Marsala (20 minutes):
Follow SS115 towards Mazara del Vallo for about 12 Km until your reach the sign "Europa Vini", keep on driving for other 60 metres until you reach the indication "Vecchio Marchese". Turn right and drive forward for 3 Km; when the road becomes a country road, you have to drive for the other 1,5 Km until you reach Baglio Spano'.
